An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Labourer to join Service Stream on the Yarra Valley Water Reliability Program.

About the Role

Service Stream is seeking an experienced Labourer to join its growing team in Melbourne. As a Labourer, you will be responsible for tasks, roles & responsibilities set out for you by the Crew Leader & Supervisor, ensuring the successful completion of water and sewer projects in a safe, efficient, and timely manner. The primary role and responsibility of the Labourer is to work in a team in Water Renewals on the Yarra Valley Water Reliability Program. 

Nature of position:               Permanent, Full Time 

Location:                               Clayton South or Epping  

Reporting Line:                    Construction Manager 

 

You will be responsible for driving trucks to and from site, delivering quarry materials and disposing of spoil to licensed disposal facilities. 

The Labourer is Responsible and Accountable for the below requirements associated with both their role and the personnel that are aligned as Direct Reports to their position:  

 

Civil Responsibilities  

  • Assist in the setup and dismantling of equipment at job sites  

  • Gathering material and installation tools.  

  • Digging trenches using hand and machine trenching tools.  

  • Removing old or broken piping systems.  

  • Laying pipes into trenches and applying pipe spacers.  

  • Sealing exposed pipe joints and fittings.  

  • Filling and sealing pipe trenches.  

General Responsibilities   

  • Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to ensure smooth operations and project completion.  

  • Monitor and report any equipment malfunctions or potential safety hazards to the supervisor.  

  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including those related to safety and environmental regulations.  

Driver Responsibilities (may be required) 

  • Driving trucks to and from site each day.  

  • Transporting query to and from site.  

  • Transporting spoil and disposal material from site to disposal facilities.  

  • Working collaboratively between crews to determine quarry and disposal requirements.  

  • Manage time between crews appropriately and collaboratively to ensure smooth delivery of projects.  

  • Works on crews in a civil / labourer capacity during times where deliveries / disposal is not required.
