About the Role

Description

The Quality Inspector is responsible for performing 1st piece inspections per customer and company requirements. Duties also include performing internal process audits and Inspections.

Major Responsibilities:

Responsible for day-to-day activities in support of the machining and assembly departments that include:

  • 1st piece inspection per customer and company requirements
  • Perform other inspections including: raw material receiving, receiving, in-process, and/or first article inspections (FAI)
  • Perform inspections for GR&R and Process Capability studies.
  • Perform / assist in the Internal Auditing process
  • Help maintain the calibration system
  • Maintain positive working relationships with other departments
  • Help manufacturing troubleshoot problems as they occur
  • Facilitate the Quality System



Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Two-year degree in quality or manufacturing or equivalent experience

Minimum Competencies:

  • Thorough understanding of blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation.
  • Ability to perform dimensional inspection using wide variety of inspection equipment (simple hand tools such as caliper to Coordinate Measuring Machine) 
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes (turning, milling, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Lean, Six Sigma, and/or ASQ Certification a plus.

Preferred Competencies:

  • Able to communicate effectively with other personnel.
  • Experience with AS9100 Quality System.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook). 
  • J-STD-001 Soldering Certified.
  • IPC-610 Solder Inspection Certified.
