Responsibilities
Keeping an Eye on the Fun:
- Keep a close watch on guests to always ensure their safety.
- Respond calmly and quickly to emergency situations, providing first aid until medical services arrive.
Guest Experience:
- Answer guest questions and address concerns with friendly, helpful communication.
- Ensure all safety rules are followed to maintain a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.
Teamwork and Professionalism:
- Show up on time and maintain a professional appearance.
- Complete required training and safety audits during the season to ensure your certification remains current.
- Work together with your team to ensure the best guest experience and safety.
Qualifications
What We’re Looking For:
- Age Requirement: Must be at least 16 years old.
- Swimming Skills: Strong swimming skills are required.
- Certification: Willingness to earn a Lifeguard Certification through Ellis & Associates (we’ll help you get certified and cover the cost!).
- Schedule Flexibility: Ability to work in different weather conditions and have a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Communication & Attitude: Excellent communication skills with a positive attitude.
- Independence & Teamwork: Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Background Check: Must successfully pass a criminal history check annually.
- Workplace Policies: Must adhere to the Columbus Zoo Family of Park’s drug-free workplace policy and follow Aquatics department’s wardrobe and grooming standards.
