Main Responsibilities

1. Holography Expertise

• Serve as the primary technical expert for COV’S Holographic Light Guiding (HLG) Group across the APAC region

• Provide specialized knowledge and support for HLG applications in head-mounted display (HMD) and mobility markets

• Troubleshoot complex HLG manufacturing challenges and optimize production processes

• Support customers with technical guidance on material selection, holographic recording processes, and methods

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish HLG markets and applications in APAC region

2. Application Development

• Support application development initiatives by providing technical expertise within customer projects

• Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to develop value propositions for new HLG applications (HMD, mobility)

• Contribute to the development of new business models leveraging advanced HLG technologies

3. Technology Scouting

• Identify and evaluate emerging technologies related to HMD and mobility applications

• Build and maintain a network of technology partners, research institutions, and industry experts across APAC

• Monitor competitive landscape and market trends to identify new opportunities

• Facilitate knowledge transfer between global teams and APAC operations

Qualification Requirements (Education & Work Experience)

Education & Experience

• Master's degree or PhD (Engineering/physics background, ideally with a focus on diffractive optics) or comparable professional experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience in holographic technology

• Experience working in the APAC market, with understanding of regional manufacturing practices

Technical Skills

• In-depth knowledge of holography and/or diffractive optics and their applications

• Understanding of polymer materials, particularly photopolymers and their applications for holographic light guiding

• Ability to independently handle and answer technical customer questions over time (not only collecting/relaying)

Soft Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Excellent networking and relationship-building skills

• Effective communication skills with ability to translate technical concepts to various audiences

• Result-oriented mindset with ability to work in fast-paced environments

• Cultural sensitivity and ability to work effectively across global regions

• Fluent English skills in speaking and writing

• Strong team player

• able to work under time pressure as well as in a customer-oriented manner

• Structured, self-motivated professional with excellent task management capabilities

• willingness to build a strong working relationship with the Leverkusen (GER) team

Travel Requirements

• Willingness to travel within the APAC region to visit customers and partners

• willingness to spend time in Leverkusen (GER) for onboarding/training
