Description
American Plastics, headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, is a leading designer and manufacturer of innovative plastic-injection molded products for the household & garage storage and commercial cleaning end-markets. We are searching for an Engineering Intern for our Kingman, AZ location. This position will report to the Plant Manager.
This is an 8 week summer internship - it is paid as well as housing if necessary.
Responsibilities
•Work with management to identify new process improvement opportunities in the areas of quality, cost, performance, and preventive and predictive maintenance.
•Evaluate and analyze current process metrics and performance to identify areas requiring improvements.
•Analyze and identify opportunities to reduce process variation, improve process capabilities, and optimize process performance.
•Develop process improvement initiatives to increase operational efficiency and productivity.
•Facilitate the deployment of new and changed processes to provide improved results.
•Develop standard procedures and policies to be followed by the Engineers.
•Assist Managers in visual management.
•Prepare project presentations for management when needed.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
•Ability to work independently and in a team-based environment.
•Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
•Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
•Effective time management skills.
•Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
Requirements
•Must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s or master's level engineering degree program at an accredited university with an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher.
•Ability to provide your own transportation to/from the job site. [local housing can be considered should it be needed]
•Ability to participate in an 8-week summer internship program.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
• At least 18 years of age.
