Position Overview

We are seeking a Nurse Manager to lead Emergency Services within a fast-paced acute care environment. This role is responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring high-quality patient care, and driving clinical and operational performance across the department.

This is a hands-on leadership role requiring recent emergency department leadership experience. The ideal candidate brings strong clinical judgment, team leadership, and the ability to maintain efficiency while delivering exceptional patient outcomes.

  • Weekend Requirement: No weekends 

Compensation

Compensation will be discussed directly with qualified candidates based on experience and leadership background.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the emergency services department 
  • Ensure delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centered care 
  • Lead, mentor, and develop nursing staff 
  • Monitor clinical performance, outcomes, and compliance 
  • Enforce policies, procedures, and regulatory standards 
  • Drive implementation of evidence-based practices 
  • Manage staffing, scheduling, and productivity 
  • Coordinate interdisciplinary care across departments 
  • Improve patient satisfaction and experience outcomes 
  • Manage departmental resources and identify cost-saving opportunities 
  • Foster a culture of accountability, efficiency, and teamwork 

Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required (or APRN where applicable) 
  • Associate Degree in Nursing or higher required 

Required Experience (NON-NEGOTIABLE):

  • Minimum 1 year of recent (within the last 12 months) acute care Emergency Department leadership experience 
    • Acceptable roles include: Charge Nurse, Coordinator, Supervisor, or similar leadership positions 

Certifications (Required):

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) – within 30 days of start 
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – within 6 months 
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – within 6 months
