CAN Community Health (CAN), a not-for-profit, community-based organization with clinics in Florida, Arizona, New Jersey, South Carolina, Texas, and Virginia, has provided specialized medical care for over 30 years. What began as a small health clinic founded by our trailblazer Susan Terry in 1991 off East Ave in Sarasota, FL, has now transitioned into a national healthcare organization serving those affected by HIV, STDs, and Viral Hepatitis. We provide the below services through Ryan White grants, STD prevention funding, the 340B Federal Drug Discount Program*, and philanthropic fundraising. As a result, we are able to provide the following services to all of our clients regardless of their ability to pay. • HIV, Viral Hepatitis, And STI Testing & Medical Care • HIV Rapid Start • Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) • Non-Occupational Post Exposure Prophylaxis (nPEP) • Primary Care • Dental Care • Ryan White Services • Sexual Health and Harm Reduction Education and Outreach • Medical Mobile Units • Medical Peer Navigation • Patient Care Coordination • Food/Nutrition Services • Support Groups • Tele-Health Services • Transportation Services With access to programs like these, we provide quality care, increase viral suppression, lower rates of STD/Hep C infections and improve quality of life in communities, and continue to seek collaborative relations with local, state, and national partners to remove treatment barriers for all individuals in care. About the Role

CAN Community Health is now hiring a Driver Medical Mobile Unit

Schedule: Day Shift | Monday-Thursday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Friday 8:00 am - 12:00 pm

Salary: $21-$24 per hour based on experience

What You’ll Do

The Driver of the Medical Mobile Unit is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of the mobile clinic to designated locations, ensuring timely arrival and set up for healthcare service delivery. This role supports community outreach efforts by enabling access to medical care in underserved areas.

  • Safely operate and drive the medical mobile unit to scheduled locations across urban and rural areas.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and readiness.
  • Assist with setup and breakdown of the mobile clinic, including power, internet, and equipment.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the vehicle interior and exterior.
  • Monitor and report maintenance needs, fuel levels, and mechanical issues.
  • Ensure compliance with traffic laws, DOT regulations, and organizational safety protocols.
  • Represent the organization professionally and respectfully in the community

Requirements

Education/Professional:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience driving a commercial or similar vehicle 
  • Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) or appropriate state license with clean driving record.
  • Must be able to operate a motor vehicle and have valid insurance and driver’s license.
