Requirements

VMG Health is seeking a Manager to join the team! This role of the Senior Manager contributes to the success of the firm by effectively managing increasingly complex engagements, client interactions, and other team members to achieve outstanding results. The Senior Manager identifies business development opportunities, both with existing and new clients, and is responsible for thought leadership in a professional association and attending networking events. 


This is a hybrid role. Candidates will need to work at one of the following office locations: Chicago, Dallas or Nashville


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee, support, and mentor Consultants, Senior Consultants, and Managers providing timely relevant and constructive feedback. 
  • Leverage staff, delegate, and instruct, being accountable for any deliverables, for on time and on budget completion. Ensure staff produces excellent work.
  • Build and foster strong client relationships, serving as the primary contact, demonstrating executive presence, and receiving high satisfaction on engagements. 
  • Responsible for engagement initiation, planning, management, and completion as defined in VMG policies.
  • Review and approve reports, before submitting to the client, as requested.
  • Provide clear and concise presentations of findings and implications to clients. Ensure staff understands strategic implications of findings.
  • Understand and articulate clients’ needs to team.
  • Initiate development of creative solutions to complex problems and unique market and organizational dynamics.
  • Develop frameworks, learning materials, or assets to help build the knowledge of the service line.
  • Demonstrate thought leadership by presenting at speaking events, attending networking events, scheduling pre-event business development meetings, and publishing.
  • Originate new clients, selling a sustained level of annual fee volume (approximately half of which must come through a primary originator role).
  • Seek opportunities to expand and strengthen personal network, collaborating with colleagues to generate cross-selling opportunities. 
  • Complete all administrative functions, mandatory training, and other internal responsibilities in a timely manner.
  • Review monthly billing promptly to support timely and accurate billing of clients.
  • Remain flexible and adaptable in work schedules and assignments as defined by departmental and company need.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree with relevant work experience. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 6+ years of consulting experience or 8+ years of healthcare industry experience

  • Strong oral and written communication skills, demonstrating responsiveness to clients and colleagues.
  • Basic competence in public speaking.
  • Ability to demonstrate insight and professional judgment with an aptitude for critical thinking.
  • Takes initiative and is proactive.
  • Demonstrates intellectual curiosity and drive for continuous learning.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and applicable software tools.
  • Deep technical expertise in identified areas of specialization. 
  • Proven ability to build and foster relationships with clients
  • Leadership qualities consistent with a Firm First mentality 
  • Track record of developing junior team members

  • Travel requirements are related to business opportunities and may vary in frequency and scope and may be on short lead times.
