Job Description: We currently have an opening for a CNC Machinist. As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for operating our Prototrak CNC Lathe machine and manual Bridgeports. You will report directly to the Machine Shop Foreman and play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and precision of our products.

Requirements

  Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain CNC machines, specifically Prototrak CNC Lathe and manual Bridgeports.
  • Interpret technical drawings and blueprints to set up and program machines.
  • Perform routine maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal performance.
  • Monitor machining processes to guarantee quality output and troubleshoot issues when necessary.
  • Utilize precision measuring instruments to verify product dimensions and make necessary adjustments.
  • Collaborate with the Machine Shop Foreman to plan and execute machining projects efficiently.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree (A. A.) or vocational technical school in machining preferred.
  • Proven experience as a CNC Machinist or similar role.
  • Proficient in shop math, blueprint reading, tool setup, offset adjustments, and calculating feeds and speeds.
  • Knowledge of conversational programming and experience with G-Code preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure.
  • Effective problem-solving abilities and eye-hand coordination.
  • Ability to work independently and follow instructions as part of a team.

Physical Demands:

  • The CNC Machinist will spend significant time standing while operating CNC machinery and performing machining tasks.
  • The role involves using hands and fingers to handle materials and operate machines with precision and accuracy.
  • The CNC Machinist may occasionally need to walk, bend, stoop, or kneel to set up or access the machining equipment and workpieces.
  • Lifting and moving materials and machined parts is part of the daily routine, with weights ranging from typical small-sized load up 25 pounds all away up to 75 pounds.
  • The CNC Machinist should have good eye-hand coordination to ensure precise machining and measurement processes.

Working Conditions:

  • The shop environment is fast-paced, busy, and can be noisy, which may cause  stress and headaches. The CNC Machinist should be able to concentrate and stay focused in such conditions.
  • The shop is equipped with AC and heating units to maintain a comfortable working temperature throughout the year. However, the CNC Machinist may occasionally go outside to access the warehouse or open garage doors during shipping and receiving activities, which may expose him/her to inclement weather.
  • The CNC Machinist should exercise caution and be aware of moving vehicles and objects within the shop to ensure their safety and the safety of others.
  • Safety is paramount in our facility. CNC machines, hoists, and cutting, drilling, and milling equipment are present, and adherence to proper safety protocols and the use of provided personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory to prevent accidents and ensure a secure working environment.
  • The operation and programming HMI panels on CNC machines may cause eye strains.
  • The company provides basic personal protective equipment (PPE) to ensure the safety of all employees.

Pay Rate 30-40HR. Based on experience
