We are seeking a highly qualified Manager of Environmental Services to join our team and deliver exceptional care to our residents. The ideal candidate will have senior living experience - such as long-term care, assisted living, or memory support - and a passion for serving the elderly.


The Manager will oversee all Environmental Services operations, including Housekeeping, Laundry, and related projects, ensuring staffing and resources meet the needs of the community.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan, organize, and oversee all EVS operations, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, safety, and resident care.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor EVS staff and team leads, emphasizing infection control, chemical safety, and service excellence.
  • Manage staffing, schedules, and HR processes, including performance monitoring and corrective actions.
  • Inspect public and private areas to maintain hygiene, appearance, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Oversee inventory, equipment, and departmental organization, ensuring resources are maintained and functional.
  • Foster collaboration with other departments and address resident feedback promptly.
  • Implement quality assurance, safety, and loss prevention programs, coordinating projects and emergency preparedness initiatives.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s in business management, healthcare, or related field strongly preferred. 
  • Minimum of five (5) years progressively related EVS management experience; long-term care experience preferred.
  • Proven ability to lead, supervise, and motivate a large, diverse EVS team in a continuing care retirement community.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills; role model for service excellence; able to work independently and collaboratively in a luxury healthcare environment.
  • Knowledge of cleaning supplies, materials, equipment, and safe practices; skilled in computer and office software.
  • Demonstrated patience, compassion, and professionalism in working with elderly residents while maintaining confidentiality and residents’ rights.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and attention-to-detail skills; ability to follow instructions accurately and meet deadlines.
  • Physically capable of performing job duties, including lifting up to 50 lbs., walking, standing, bending, and navigating stairs; availability for occasional weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts.
