About the Role

Description

Perform vehicle maintenance, repair, service and troubleshooting as per vehicle manufacturer recommendations and according to the needs of Timberline.


 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Ensure availability of sufficient snow-cats for daily grooming requirements.
  • Ensure operational reliability and safety of road vehicles 3.
  • Maintain orderly work area.
  • Service and repair Timberline vehicles per manufacturers and Timberline’s specifications and schedules.
  • Assist Vehicle Maintenance Supervisor to track vehicle service hours and scheduling.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of Oiler/Apprentice duties.
  • Learn/demonstrate basic troubleshooting skills on all vehicles in inventory.
  • Learn/demonstrate basic vehicle recovery techniques.
  • Participate in company training and gain skills and knowledge needed for advancement to Mechanic Level II.
  • Properly complete paperwork associated with job duties in accurate and timely fashion.
  • Become familiar with and perform all equipment testing as per Timberline’s requirements.
  • Demonstrate safe work habits including compliance with all safety guidelines and procedures and use of personal protection equipment.
  • Present a professional, quality image at all times.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.

Requirements


  • Experience working in the ski industry preferred
  • Experience with snowcats, diesel engines, hydraulic, small engines and welding preferred.
  • Must have excellent comprehensive mechanical and trouble shooting skills.
  • Must be able to follow directions and complete tasks in a timely fashion.
  • Must have excellent basic welding and fabricating skills.
  • Must have good communication skills: oral, written, and reading comprehension.
  • Must have motivation to learn required job skills.
  • Must pay close attention to details.
  • Must have valid drivers' license.
  • Must have Timberline approved driving record.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to work on your feet, stand, and walk for up to 8 hours at a time in all weather conditions.
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs. of material routinely unassisted and occasionally up to 100lbs.
  • Must be able to reach in all directions, including overhead and flexible in range of motion.
  • Must be able to perform functions required to operate all forms of routine office equipment, and communication systems.

MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Timberline vehicle mechanics are required to maintain a personal set of hand tools on site.
