POSITION SUMMARY:
The Entry-Level Manufacturing Engineer supports manufacturing automation and infrastructure projects by executing well-defined engineering, data, and documentation tasks. This role is hands-on, execution-focused, and designed to build foundational engineering capability while supporting larger programs led by the Process Improvement Lead and Sr. Process Improvement Engineer.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Entry-Level Manufacturing Engineer is accountable for the following functions and responsibilities:
· Assists in identifying, analyzing, and organizing manufacturing data to support process improvement initiatives and future-state planning.
· Develop and maintain closeout documentation for executed engineering projects.
· Support utilities and infrastructure planning for automation, including layout inputs and required documentation.
· Assist with validation activities for automation pilots, following defined acceptance criteria and test plans.
· Organize, clean, and structure pilot data to support analysis and KPI tracking.
· Execute assigned validation tasks during pilot stabilization and testing phases.
· Document issues, observations, and results in a structured, repeatable format.
· Coordinate with the Lead and Sr Engineer to ensure tasks remain on schedule and risks are escalated early.
· Create and maintain clear engineering documentation, including drawings, checklists, validation records, and closeout packages.
· Follow established architecture, standards, and naming conventions.
· Ensure work products are audit-ready and suitable for executive or cross-functional review when needed.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
The Entry-Level Manufacturing Engineer must at a minimum possess the following:
· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or similar)
· Strong ability to follow structured processes and document work clearly
· Comfortable working in manufacturing or shop-floor environments
· Proficient with Microsoft products and basic data handling
· (Preferred): Exposure to automation, robotics, or manufacturing systems
· (Preferred) Familiarity with quality systems, validation, or pilot testing
· (Preferred) Basic understanding of electrical or utility systems in industrial settings
· (Preferred) Experience working with data collected from sensors, scanners, or equipment
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The Entry-Level Manufacturing Engineer must be able to:
· Operate basic office equipment, such as a keyboard, mouse, and copier/printer/scanning machine.
· Wear the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment when required (i.e., safety glasses or side shields, steel-toe footwear, etc.).
· Sit and/or stand for long periods of time; up to 8-12 hours a day.
