We're currently looking for a skilled and motivated Housekeeping & Front of House Supervisor to oversee both our campus-wide housekeeping efforts and the cleanliness and operational flow of our main dining hall-a central hub of camp life.
Job Summary:
The Housekeeping & Front of House Supervisor plays a critical leadership role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and presentation of camp facilities, the main dining hall and adjacent areas, and off-campus housing. This hands-on management position oversees housekeeping teams across camp and ensures the dining experience is supported by a clean, organized, and welcoming environment. You'll lead daily operations, oversee budgeted spend, manage costs, ,manage staff, implement schedules, and uphold high standards that reflect Pali Mountain's commitment to excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Staff Management:
- Train, supervise, and support a team of housekeeping and front of house staff.
- 10-15 Housekeeping staff
- 5-10 Front of House staff
- Create clear staff schedules and task assignments to meet daily operational needs.
- Set expectations, lead team meetings, and provide real-time coaching and feedback.
- Foster a collaborative, positive, and accountable team culture aligned with camp values.
- Support the implementation of newprocessand platforms in housekeeping management.
- Housekeeping Oversight:
- Manage cleaning operations across cabins, restrooms, offices, activity buildings, and shared spaces.
- Develop andmaintaincleaning checklists, inspection routines, and shift rotations.
- Monitor cleanliness standards, address problem areas, and coordinate with the maintenance team for repairs or deeper sanitation needs.
- Track inventory and manage ordering of cleaning supplies, linens, paper goods, and other related materials.
- Front of House (Dining Hall) Management:
- Oversee the cleanliness, setup, and breakdown of the main dining hall, including floors, tables, trash/recycling, and high-touch surfaces.
- Coordinate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth transitions between meal services.
- Manage staff responsible for table resets, and cleaning during and after meal periods.
- Create daily dining hall cleaning schedules and ensure standards are met during all meal shifts.
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of supervisory or managerial experience in hospitality, janitorial services, or facilities management.
- Experience in a high-volume food service or camp environmentstronglypreferred.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to cleanliness, safety, and guest satisfaction.
- Ability to train and motivate staff from a wide range of backgrounds.
- Proficient in basic administrative tasks, including scheduling and inventory tracking.
Working Conditions:
- Fast-paced, activeroleinvolving walking, lifting, cleaning, and working both indoors and outdoors.
- Must be comfortable with non-traditional hours including early mornings, weekends, and evenings.
- Must be comfortable working at an organization rapidly evolvingit'sprocesses and structure.
