We’re looking for a second shift Utility/Material Handler who takes pride in their work and understands the value of teamwork on the floor. This position is eligible for up to a $2,000 sign-on bonus and up to a 15% pre-tax profit share paid quarterly—because when the team succeeds, everyone shares in the results.
Requirements
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Accurately read and understand production shop orders (including visual work instructions, scrap bin system, use and understand move tickets and scrap tickets properly), interpret and use the instructions they provide as well as properly prioritization of tasks.
- Safe use of hand tools (including routers, drills, cutting tools, and finishing tools).
- Understand basic thermoformer controls and run production (ability to load and unload machines).
- Safe operation of bandsaws for pretrimming or cutting up scrap.
- Use and understand basic measuring tools including tape measures, scales, rulers and heat guns.
- Keep accurate records and entries in the data collection system, QC reports and TAKT time sheets.
- Operate CNC/robotic trimming equipment safely including stopping/starting machines.
- Capable of independent operation of all thermoforming machines.
- Capable of being trained on the startup and shut down procedures on all thermoformers.
- Setup single sheet jobs on thermoformers with minimal supervision.
- Makes small adjustments to the thermoforming process to bring process under control with tech direction.
- Reads and interprets basic part drawings including tolerances.
- Works independently and is self-directed in daily duties, consulting with the team lead when additional tasks are needed.
- Proactively identifies where additional training is needed and provides training with operators, communicating with team leads when performance does not meet expectations.
- Leads by example in all areas of work, demonstrates safety, good attendance, follows policy/procedure/work rules, maintains positive attitude and ask questions when concerns arise.
- Accurately issue and return materials/finished goods to inventory system using the bar code scanning system.
- Accurately locate, pull and return all tooling and CNC fixtures.
- Participate in and promote 5S principles as they relate to material handling.
- Accurately cut sheet to proper size per instruction and use drying oven correctly.
- Fabricate packaging using air/power tools and a variety of supplies.
Marginal Job Functions
- Shipping and receiving duties as needed.
- All other job duties as assigned.
Minimum Experience Required
- 2 years thermoforming experience as an operator, or completion of all Hampel Operator III competencies.
