The Housekeeping Aide is responsible for cleaning walls, lights, fixtures, and furniture throughout the hospital to maintain an aseptic environment and prevent healthcare-associated infections using standard procedures. This role also involves cleaning, waxing, extracting, and maintaining floors, carpeting, and stairwells, along with assisting with heavy cleaning tasks.

Overview
Cleans walls, lights, fixtures, and furniture in all assigned areas of the hospital to maintain an aseptic environment and prevent healthcare-associated infection using standard cleaning procedures and chemicals. Cleans, waxes, extracts, and maintains floors, carpeting, and stairwells and assists with heavy cleaning throughout the hospital.
Qualifications
Minimum Education:
- Requires the ability to read and follow instructions.
- Equivalent to two years of high school preferred
Minimum Work Experience:
- Up to one month to become proficient in all aspects of the position.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
- To operate all cleaning equipment in a safe proficient manner that does not cause damage. To work and interact with patients, staff, and visitors to create and maintain an environment conductive.
- Required to comply with OSHA regulations for the N95 respirator training and fit testing. Must be compliant at the beginning of each scheduled work shift.
- Adheres to infection control policies and guidelines appropriate for their work area. Hand hygiene and PPE requirements followed when appropriate.
