About the Role

Abraham Joshua Heschel School seeks a full-time early childhood & lower school (Grades preschool-5) art teacher to begin in the fall of 2026.


The art teacher will work in collaboration with other early childhood & lower school art teachers as well as other faculty members as needed. 


The ideal candidate should have:
  • A bachelor’s degree in Art Education, Fine Arts, or a related field (a master’s degree is preferred)

  • Experience working with a variety of materials, including paint, clay, collage, drawing, and construction

  • Experience / desire to work with other art teacher (s) in a shared space

  • Passion for teaching young children

  • An understanding of stages of child development to foster growth and learning

  • An appreciation for cultivating the artistic process
