Dogtopia, the industry leader in dog daycare and wellness services, is looking for a full time energetic, organized, business-minded individual to lead our team as a store Operations/Assistant Manager at our new facility in North Overland Park. 

This is a role for someone with a Management and Sales/Operations background who understands hard work, how to deliver and train others to provide top customer service and ensure a great environment for the dogs in our care. This person is an enthusiastic dog lover, and after coming on board, as a BONUS can bring their dog friendly dog to work – for free!

Job Description:

As Operations/Assistant Manager you are responsible for smooth running of operations, managing team members, maintaining high quality, safe and clean dog care facility, help providing exceptional level of customer service, working alongside of pet parent relationship manager to initiate community outreach through marketing and special events and drive superb customer satisfaction metrics.


Team Management

  • Maintains optimum back of house staffing and development with employees
  • Leads by example by coaching all on contributing to a  positive team-oriented culture
  • Manages completion of all Spa Services – baths, nails, ear cleaning, and brushouts
  • Must have a flexible schedule that includes some evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Onboarding employees and ensure each employee has the required amount of training
  • Clean and Safe Environment to ensure our furry friends are always in a safe and clean environment
  • Maintain and update cleaning schedule, along with holding themselves and team accountable to the Dogtopia’s Safety and      cleaning standards
  • Works closely with of pet parent relationship manager to complete new dog Meet &      Greats
  • Assists on In-store event days

Financial and Administrative

  • Manages team members including quality control of  work, safety and schedules
  • Maintains controllable expenses within budgetary constraints including ordering supplies, and actively for ways to maximize efficiency
  • Communicates any concerns or needs proactively and partnering after attempting to resolve issues
  • Develops team in upselling and using dog evaluations  to grow revenue
  • Communicates any concerns or needs to General Manager  proactively and partnering after attempting to resolve issues

Operations

  • Maintains and updates cleaning schedule, along with  holding themselves and team accountable to the Dogtopia’s safety and      cleaning standards
  • Proactively handles any dog incident and communicates  to pet parents, GM and owner with proper documentation and follow up
  • Monitor dogs proactively with ongoing behavior issues  and maintains action plans to retain those with minor issues
  • Ensure Operations perform at Dogtopia standards for Dog safety and cleanliness
  • Responsibility for opening and closing store

Customer Service and Presentation

  • Maintains a neat organized environment at all times
  • Sets the example for the team and holds accountable to internal and external customer service standards
  • Keeps the team members engaged in their duties
  • Strive for high customer service ratings

Requirements

Prior experience should MUST include ALL of the following:

  • Minimum      2 or more years of working experience in a kennel operation, pet care or      veterinary facility.
  • Minimum      1-2 years of experience managing a customer facing, high service providing      company.
  • Minimum      1-2 years of experience leading a team of full or part time employees.
