Make Every Guest Feel Valued—Serve as a Rides & Attractions Attendant!

The Rides & Attractions Attendant helps deliver an enjoyable and safe experience for guests across various Zoo attractions, including the 4D Theater, Lighthouse Theater Presentations, and Dinosaur Island. The role emphasizes guest service, safety, and creating positive, memorable experiences for all who visit.

Responsibilities

Guest Experience & Engagement

  • Provide an inviting, enthusiastic experience that enhances the Zoo’s atmosphere.
  • Deliver G.R.E.A.T. guest service, answer questions, and communicate clearly with guests of all ages.

Attraction Operation & Safety

  • Ensure safe and efficient operation of designated attractions.
  • Provide detailed safety instructions and remain attentive to respond quickly to situations.

Facility Cleanliness & Area Support

  • Maintain cleanliness throughout attraction areas.
  • Collaborate with animal keepers and program staff as required.

Sales & Guest Engagement Activities

  • Transact sales at various kiosk locations, including Lorikeet feedings, Giraffe feedings, and ScooterPals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to ensure proper ride operation, including helping with loading/unloading procedures, ride area organization, and communication with the operations team.
  • Adapt to schedule changes based on weather, guest attendance, and operational needs.

Qualifications

Age, Appearance & Professional Standards

  • Must be at least 15 years of age.
  • Must maintain appropriate employee appearance.
  • Must have reliable transportation.

Communication & Interaction Skills

  • Strong oral communication skills.
  • Ability to remain courteous and helpful while working with diverse guests and team members.

Technical & Operational Skills

  • Basic computer/tablet knowledge and skills; training will be provided.
  • Able to work in varied weather conditions (heat, rain, etc.).

Work Conditions & Employment Requirements

  • Able to work flexible schedules, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
  • Subject to Drug-Free Workplace Policy, criminal background check, and BMV check.
  • Position is a seasonal position and not eligible for overtime pay.
