Position Description:
Perform duties to prepare and execute the shipment and receipt of product, raw materials and supplies.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Load and unload materials from inbound and outbound trucks
- Schedule dock appointments with customers and third-party carriers
- Verify condition and quantity of materials being shipped or received
- Move, store, stack and deliver materials and products to designated storage or production areas
- Update inventory system by scanning product in and out of rack and warehouse locations
- Conduct and complete trailer inspections and documentation
- Operate material handling equipment
- Conduct weekly and monthly cycle counts of inventory
- Conduct on-the-job training of co-workers as needed
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations
- Maintain a safety-minded attitude that supports the Company’s safety culture
- Performs other duties as assigned
Supervisory/Management Responsibilities:
- None
Requirements:
- Able to speak, read and write English
- Prior forklift and walker experience
- Basic math skills
- Basic working knowledge of computers and programs related to email and database management
- Able to work overtime and weekends as needed
- Valid Driver's License
Physical Requirements:
- Able to lift 50 lbs. daily, approximately 5% of each day
- Able to life/move more than 50 lbs. and up to 500 lbs. a few times per month
- Able to walk/stand approximately 8 hours per day
* This is a union position and comes with benefits provided by the union, upon completion of the 90 day probationary period. Benefits include: medical, vision and dental as well as 1 week of paid time off after 1 year of employment.
