This position offers the opportunity to cultivate growth by ensuring consistent and high-quality performance in retention, acquisition, and service delivery. It covers the Financial Institutions & Professions portfolio in VIC.

 

Client Director VIC - Financial Institutions & Professions (FI&P)

The Financial Institutions & Professions (FI&P) vertical is the largest division of the Specialties Solutions segment. The FI&P team provides insurance and risk advisory services to clients in the banking and finance industry. They also serve professional services industries specializing in sophisticated, high-risk, and regulated companies. Aon brings together risk and human capital to deliver industry insights, data and analytics, risk consulting, advice and insurance solutions to our clients to support their business goals and aspirations.

As a Client Director, you will supervise the FI&P portfolio and focus on achieving consistent acquisition, excellent retention and delivery across VIC.

What the day will look like

You will be responsible for:

  • Partner with the Managing Director and Sales & Growth Strategy leads to handle internal channel distribution relationships and drive strategic sales initiatives
  • Identify and convert new business opportunities, lead tender responses and proposals, and give to the growth and retention of Aon’s FI&P portfolio
  • Supervise open market placement activities, maintaining consistency with go-to-market strategies and compliance with broking standards
  • Proactively leading a portfolio of clients from the banking and professional sectors, including the strategic management of client relationships at a senior level
  • Deliver a client-centric, cross solution line approach to servicing clients
  • Supervise and interpret industry trends, competitor activity, and regulatory developments, sharing insights with internal and external partners
  • Participation in key speaking opportunities at industry events to raise awareness of Aon’s brand and capabilities in the Financial Institutions/Professions space
  • Lead P&L and margin performance for assigned portfolio, ensuring alignment with financial goals and strategic targets
  • Lead and support operational changes, embedding agile practices and modern tools to improve efficiency and client outcomes
  • Mentor and lead a high-performing team, supporting career development, performance management, and succession planning
  • Maintain strategic relationships with insurance carrier partners in all key markets and negotiate appropriate risk transfer solutions based on individual client risk profile

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Extensive experience within the Financial Lines Insurance market with a distinct focus on risk identification and risk transfer for Financial Institutions/Professions clients
  • Strong technical understanding of a broad range of Financial Lines Insurance products and risk solutions, including Professional Indemnity (PI), Directors & Officers (D&O), and Crime insurance
  • A high level of understanding of client profitability
  • Excellent cross-selling abilities
  • A keen entrepreneurial spirit and flair for business development
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated success in developing team relationships and senior-level client relationships
  • Qualifications in accordance with the Financial Services Reform Act (minimum Tier 1 Broking Compliance)
