We are seeking a skilled Tools Associate to help oversee the organization, tracking, and distribution of tools and materials for Hooper’s Fabrication Shop and jobsites. This role requires close collaboration with office staff, jobsite foremen, division leaders, and management to ensure resources are delivered accurately and on time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate inventory records, document tools and consumables, inspect and repair equipment, and keep calibration records updated.
- Collaborate with leadership to identify tool needs, coordinate with the Trucking Supervisor on deliveries, and process material requests for staging.
- Review the quality of purchased products to ensure they meet standards, maintain inventory of items in the tool crib, and inventory tools returned from jobsites.
- Operate forklift to move and load materials as needed.
- Perform occasional deliveries to job sites and assist with additional duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Strong mechanical aptitude with basic math skills; high school diploma or GED required.
- Experience in inventory control or related field preferred.
- Prior forklift experience preferred.
- Knowledge of inventory management procedures.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills required.
- Maintains a good driving record for occasional travel to job sites.
- Ability to work in a team environment and maintain positive relationships with colleagues and vendors.
Description of Physical Working Environment:
- Continuous standing, walking, and lifting required with frequent twisting, bending, and turning.
- Ability to climb ladders and steps and lift materials up to 75 pounds on a regular basis with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Works in a normal office/shop environment.
- Regularly works from a sitting position with a computer; repetitive typing and computer use required.
