We are looking for an Early Intervention Billing Coordinator responsible for managing billing cycles, verifying insurance coverage, and coordinating with service providers and families to resolve billing inquiries. The coordinator ensures compliance with federal, state, and organizational policies governing early intervention programs, thereby supporting the financial health of the organization. By maintaining detailed records and generating reports, the coordinator contributes to transparent financial operations and supports audit readiness. Ultimately, this role facilitates seamless financial transactions that enable uninterrupted delivery of essential early intervention services to children and families.
What you will do:
- Manage and process billing for early intervention services, including Medicaid, private insurance, and self-pay accounts.
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits prior to service delivery to ensure accurate billing.
- Collaborate with therapists, service coordinators, and families to gather necessary documentation and resolve billing discrepancies.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of billing regulations and reimbursement policies related to early intervention programs.
- Prepare and submit claims electronically and follow up on unpaid or denied claims to ensure timely reimbursement.
- Generate regular billing reports and assist with financial audits and compliance reviews.
- Provide training and support to staff regarding billing procedures and documentation requirements.
- Works in person as part of a team to complete billing department
What you will bring:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree or higher in healthcare administration, business, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in medical billing or healthcare reimbursement, preferably within early intervention or pediatric services.
- Proficiency with billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Strong understanding of insurance processes, including Medicaid and private insurance billing.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in medical billing or coding (e.g., CPC, CCA) is highly desirable.
- Experience working with early intervention programs or pediatric healthcare providers.
- Familiarity with state and federal regulations governing early intervention services.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel for reporting purposes.
- Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with families, providers, and insurance representatives.
