AMHC is currently searching to grow its team of Residential Counselors at the Madawaska Group Home in a full-time capacity.
The Residential Counselor assists the Specialty Site Administrator in the day-to-day operations of the group home. He/she is responsible for the development of individual rehabilitation and treatment plans for residents and provides direct skill teaching and programming within the context of the psychosocial rehabilitation model. These standards are inclusive of both direct clinical service and required documentation of those services, and the candidate will be expected to demonstrate the core values of AMHC by showing Integrity, Compassion, Excellence, Service, Collaboration, and Respect to co-workers, clients, and community members.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of a High school diploma with related work or life experience is required
- Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Responsibilities & Expectations:
- Provide Compassionate counseling and assistance to clients, while respectfully teaching daily living skills, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Implement Collaborative recreational and social activities both within and outside of the facility
- Demonstrate the Integrity of AMHC by keeping up to date with changes in general programming or individual programs
- Assisting in general administrative and routine maintenance duties with Excellence to ensure the quality of care given to our community
- Using a service-focused approach to record and daily tasks of each community member.
Schedule:
- This is a 40-hour-per-week position
Requirements
- This position requires a minimum of a high school diploma with relevant experience in a psychiatric inpatient or residential/outpatient setting, relevant life experience, or a comparable practicum preferred.
- Must have a valid driver’s license in the State of Maine and reliable transportation.
