Position Title: Assistant Director
Pay Rate: $12–$13 per hour (based on experience)
Employment Type: Full Time
Work Schedule: 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
Position Summary
Bright Beginnings Childcare Center is seeking a reliable, organized, and energetic Assistant Director to support daily operations within our center. This role bridges administrative support and classroom assistance, ensuring smooth day-to-day functioning while maintaining a nurturing and structured environment for children and staff.
Key Responsibilities
Administrative Support
- Assist the Director and administrative team with daily operational tasks
- Assist with scheduling, staff coordination, and classroom coverage as needed
Classroom Support
- Provide hands-on support to Lead Teachers in classrooms as needed
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and engaging learning environment
- Step into classrooms to ensure proper ratios are maintained
- Support implementation of lesson plans and daily routines
Event Coordination
- Assist in planning and executing center events (family nights, holidays, graduation, etc.)
- Help organize materials, decorations, and communication for events
- Support staff during event setup and breakdown
General Duties
- Ensure compliance with all center policies and procedures
- Promote a positive, team-oriented work environment
- Maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times
Requirements
Qualifications & Requirements
Must meet all West Virginia childcare licensing requirements for employment in a licensed childcare facility
High school diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework in early childhood education preferred
Previous childcare experience strongly preferred
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment
Must be dependable, punctual, and a team player
Ability to lift, move, and engage actively with children throughout the day
