This will be a 1 year maternity cover
We’re looking for a commercially minded Retention Analytics Manager to turn customer data into actionable insight that drives player engagement, value, and long-term loyalty. Sitting at the heart of the lifecycle and CRM ecosystem, this role is responsible for understanding customer behaviour across gaming and sports, identifying opportunities to improve retention, and shaping data-driven strategies that increase customer lifetime value while optimising promotional investment.
You’ll partner closely with CRM, Commercial, Product and Marketing teams to deliver high-impact analysis, support test-and-learn initiatives, and build robust measurement frameworks that evaluate performance across the customer journey. This role blends strategic thinking with hands-on analytics — from deep-dive behavioural insight and segmentation development to forecasting, bonus efficiency analysis, and lifecycle performance tracking.
Success in this role means translating complex data into clear commercial narratives, influencing stakeholders at all levels, and ensuring retention activity is targeted, measurable, and aligned to broader business and regulatory objectives.
Key responsbilities
- Coordinates a team in the solution delivery to complex business cases and problems using a variety of data analytics technologies and techniques including but not limited to data processing and engineering, statistical analysis, data visualisation and optimisation techniques.
- Supervises the audit and quality assurance reviews of work within the Data Analytics function.
- Facilitates the delivery of best practice standards for business intelligence applications, promoting standardisation and re-usability of reporting solutions across the Entain group.
- Provides insight into the development of the Data Analytics strategy and solutions portfolio through keeping up to date on the evolving technology and industry trends in the data analytics landscape.
- Maintains partnerships with functional heads across the Entain group to determine data analytics requirements, including those that require deep data science capabilities, plan and deliver solutions to meet objectives and identify actionable insights and recommendations.
- Coordinates the development of data visualisations, including reports, dashboards, and analyses to distribute data insights in an easily digestible manner to all relevant stakeholders.
- Drives the educational development of the Data Analytics user community, ensuring the community is fully equipped with the knowledge to allow utilisation of the Data Analytics solutions effectively and efficiently.
- Champions, continuously develops and shares with team knowledge on emerging trends and changes in data analytics.
- Coaches talent, and manages others, to develop capabilities and ensure performance through upskilling, development and recruitment.
- Implements ways to improve working processes within the area of data analytics responsibility.
- Takes initiative to master new toolsets (coding languages, data platforms etc) as need and opportunity arises
Qualifications
- Extensive experience in a data analytics role, ideally in CRM & Commercial analytics;
- Strong Knowledge in A/B testing and Hypothesis testing;
- Ability to transform complex facts and figures into plain English that can be easily understood, coupled with exceptional presentation skills;
- Exceptional data wrangling skills dealing with complex datasets to combine and automate the analytics workflow;
- Strong Knowledge of SQL;
- Proficiency in Python, R or equivalent;
- Proficiency in reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau or similar);
- Demonstrate Analytical Leadership skills;
- Excellent understanding of KPIs, business processes and data context;
- Capable of clarifying business hypothesis and apply analytical technique to test them;
- Capability to interpret data and drive business conclusions;
