Description

Hoover Truck & Bus Centers is a Western Star Truck, Freightliner Truck and Bluebird Bus Dealer, with sales and service locations in Edgewater Park, Flanders, Stanhope, and Toms River, NJ. 

Summary: Experienced, safe parts driver, will provide excellent customer service as well as safe, efficient, timely delivery and pick up of truck parts and equipment to customers on an assigned route, using a Company owned vehicle.

Parts Driver Job Responsibilities:

• Maintain communication with parts manager, wholesale representative, inventory control administrator, parts counterperson,      and shipping/receiving clerk to coordinate all pick-ups and deliveries (planned and last minute)
• Verify invoice against purchase order for each pick-up
• Maintain accurate log of daily deliveries and pick-ups, and obtain recipient's signature for each delivery entry
• Unload truck each night
• Submit all paperwork for undelivered parts
• Basic maintenance of truck, including gassing, checking oil, keeping it clean and ensuring required inspections are performed
• Advise parts manager of necessary major truck repairs or maintenance
• Help maintain the professional appearance of the parts department

Assist with stocking and posting orders upon arrival to expedite delivery to shop  

Requirements

Parts Driver Qualifications: Successful candidates will be or possess: 

• 6 months' related experience (i.e.: truck/auto parts delivery)
• Regularly required to lift/transfer up to 50 pounds, and occasionally required to lift/transfer up to 75 pounds
• Clean, valid driver's license (no major/minor violations/at-fault accidents in last 5 years)
• For insurance purposes, drivers must be at least 25 years of age.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills
• Excellent and efficient customer service skills
• Willingness and ability to make deliveries throughout the areas serviced

Compensation Range Disclosure: In compliance with New Jersey’s pay transparency regulations, we are disclosing the compensation range for this position. The hourly wage range for this position is $18-$23 an hour, depending on experience, qualifications and internal equity considerations.
