POSITION SUMMARY:

Provide pastoral, spiritual oversight for all Emergency Services Guests and staff at our downtown and Angeles House locations. Work closely with the downtown and Angeles House Emergency Services Leadership to ensure all core values and principles are implemented.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Prepare and teach bible study, devotions, chapel services, life skills classes, trainings, and leadership development for all Emergency Services Guests and staff at downtown and Angeles House.
  • Conduct individual and group counseling.
  • Maintain timely thorough documentation case notes to aid Case Management support team for residents, as needed.
  • Assist in program case planning and implementation.
  • Responsible for crisis intervention and decision making that impacts the overall functioning of the program. 
  • Serve as liaison for professional services provided at Angeles House, as needed.
  • Provide leadership in critical incidents and implementation of policy and procedure.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Ministry volunteers and partners.
  • Conduct other duties as assigned.
  • Commitment to URM mission, vision, and core values. 
  • Encourage guests in their faith and growth in Jesus Christ.

  • The office is clean, orderly, properly lighted, and ventilated.
  • Noise levels are considered low to moderate.
  • This position predominantly works indoors in a high traffic office. 

Requirements

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND LICENSURES:

  • Equivalent of bachelor’s degree in Ministry field.
  • Master’s Degree in Theology or Divinity, a plus.
  • 3+ years progressively responsible, related experience (social services, community relations).

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to communicate effectively in both orally and in writing.
  • Basic skill in planning, organizing, communication/counseling, and supervisory/leadership skills.
  • A thorough knowledge of the behavior, character and emotional issues of the clients served at Angeles House, URM and Hope Gardens.
  • Ability to manage time, prioritize multiple tasks, and respond to emergencies.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Bilingual preferred, but not required.
