PACE Supply, a leader in the plumbing supply industry, is excited to announce opportunities at our new Riverside, CA location! We’re looking for a experienced and customer-focused Counter Sales Lead to join our growing team.
As a Counter Sales Lead, you’ll be the welcoming face of our new branch, providing outstanding service to our customers.
Your role will include:
- Promptly and courteously assisting customers with their needs
- Sharing your plumbing and product expertise to guide informed purchasing decisions
- Building strong, lasting customer relationships through exceptional service and product knowledge

Responsibilities
- Lead daily counter operations, ensuring accurate and timely fulfillment of customer orders
- Provide direction and support to counter staff, maintaining high standards of customer service and efficiency
- Assist customers promptly and professionally, offering product expertise and solutions-based recommendations
- Enter and manage customer orders, branch transfers, quotes, and pricing with a high level of accuracy
- Follow up on orders, proactively resolve issues, and ensure customer satisfaction and timely communication
- Generate and provide product and job quotes as needed
- Oversee receiving activities by verifying the quantity and quality of incoming materials
- Ensure materials are properly checked in, stocked, and organized within the warehouse
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment, including counter areas, warehouse, and common spaces
- Accurately perform cycle counts and inventory control activities, reporting discrepancies and backorders
- Maintain strong knowledge of inventory, product availability, and warehouse layout
- Support and model ethical sales practices and company policies, including returns, credit terms, and procedures
- Assist in training and mentoring team members, encouraging ongoing product knowledge development
- Ensure all tasks are completed in compliance with safety standards, reporting any hazards to management
- Support branch operations, including loading/unloading customer vehicles and assisting with year-end physical inventory
Qualifications
- Any combination of education and experience that provides the required skills and knowledge for successful performance will be considered
- High school diploma or GED required
- 2+ years of experience in plumbing, warehouse, or retail/customer service environments, with demonstrated leadership or lead experience preferred
- Strong working knowledge of plumbing products, warehouse operations, and counter sales processes
- Proficiency in warehouse management systems and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, etc.)
- Ability to input, retrieve, and analyze data accurately
- Ability to read and interpret product codes, locations, and inventory details
- Solid math and cash handling skills
- Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated ability to lead by example, support team members, and drive accountability
- Willingness to learn and continuously develop product knowledge and leadership skills

Physical Requirements:
- The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
- Ability to lift items that weigh up to 50 lbs. regularly. This includes carrying, dragging, and walking with materials, as well as using a hand-truck.
- Prolonged periods of standing or sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Specific vision abilities required for this job include distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
Environmental Conditions:
- The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions.
- Occasionally, the employee may be exposed to high, precarious places and vibration.
