Service Porter
Summary
The porter assists with lot activity in moving of vehicles as well as maintaining a clean and tidy service drive and delivery area. The Porters primarily move vehicles around the dealership lot, retrieve vehicles for advisors, and minor vehicle services.
Duties and responsibilities
- Move vehicles from the service drive to the prescribed parking for staging.
- Wash and vacuum all vehicles.
- Complete various janitorial duties.
- Provide assistance to service managers, advisors, and technicians when needed.
- Provide assistance to the Loaner department for retrieving vehicles.
- Inflate tires, top fluid levels, and install license plates.
Requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 4 years clear driving record- No previous DUI history or moving violations
- Valid driver’s license
- 1-year automotive dealership experience
- Previous porter/courier/valet/ stocking/warehouse/driving experience
- High level of dependability and confidentiality

Work Environment
This job operates in various types of vehicles and business environments that may include loud noises, odors or weather conditions. Driving is mostly during the day but could be required to drive in low light conditions.
Physical Demands
Safely drive a variety of vehicles in inclement weather or road conditions. Adhere to established motor vehicle rules and laws. May sit, walk or stand for long periods of time in all weather and temperature conditions. Repetitive use of arms and legs and moving the whole body such as standing, climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, reaching, pushing, grasping, hearing, seeing and talking.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Saturday 8am to 5 pm. Evening, Holiday and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel
This position may require travel to extended areas.
Valid driver's license is required, and all applicants must be willing to submit to a drug screen and background check prior to employment.
