About the Role

Description

We are seeking a qualified Registered Nurse (RN) to support and administer a comprehensive Hearing Conservation Program (HCP) in an occupational health setting. This role is responsible for conducting audiometric testing, monitoring employee hearing health, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. 

 

Job duties

  • Conduct baseline, annual, and follow-up audiometric testing for employees exposed to occupational noise
  • Identify and document Standard Threshold Shifts (STS) and initiate appropriate follow-up actions
  • Educate employees on hearing conservation, proper use of hearing protection, and noise exposure risks
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA Hearing Conservation Standard 
  • Maintain accurate and confidential medical surveillance records
  • Calibrate and maintain audiometric equipment in accordance with regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with occupational health staff, safety teams, and management
  • Coordinate referrals for further medical evaluation when needed

Requirements

  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
  • Completion of a CAOHC-approved Occupational Hearing Conservationist (OHC) certification (or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe)
  • Minimum of 1–3 years of nursing experience (occupational health or related field preferred)
  • Ability to obtain secret or equivalent clearance (current clearance preferred)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in occupational health, employee health, or industrial settings
  • Knowledge of OSHA and workplace safety regulations
  • Experience working on federal or government contracts
