Description
The Safety Monitor is responsible for controlling site access and maintaining accurate, real-time records of all personnel entering and exiting the project site. This position ensures full accountability, safety compliance, and documentation accuracy in alignment with both company and customer requirements.
Site Access Control
- Monitor and control all designated entry/exit points for the project
- Enforce strict customer-specific check-in/check-out procedures of all personnel on site
- Prevent unauthorized entry and immediately report violations
- Maintain accurate, real-time daily logs of headcount, submit and retain records per requirements
Safety & Compliance Enforcement
- Verify PPE for all personnel entering site
- Follow and enforce company and customer safety policies
- Assist during emergency evacuations and safety incidents
- Immediately report unsafe behavior, missing personnel, unauthorized access or discrepancies
- Maintain consistent communication with supervisors and customer contacts
Qualifications:
- Prior construction or safety experience preferred
- Confined Space Certification is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to maintain focus and awareness for extended periods
- Professional communication and writing skills
- Ability to enforce rules consistently and confidently
Requirements
Job Requirements:
- Pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- Ability to work on a tobacco-free job site.
- Be a minimum of 21 years of age.
- Have a valid driver's license, good driving record and qualify as a company driver.
- Have reliable communication to receive work schedule.
- Maintain regular, reliable on-site attendance
Physical Requirements:
- Physical strength and stamina.
- Be able to work in all weather conditions and tolerate varying climates of heat, cold, and rain.
- Be able to stand for extended periods and remain at assigned post at all times, until properly relieved.
- Work in a high-visibility, safety-sensitive environment
