The S&P Global Ratings Commercial Team is responsible for optimizing relationships and commercial outcomes with a broad set of clients in APAC. We are a collaborative team which develops solutions that help our clients overcome their complex business challenges. The team is focused on relationship management and business development for our diverse client base. We uniquely leverage our proprietary methodologies and cutting-edge technologies to provide unparalleled client engagement and solutions. As the leader of this high-performing team, you will set a clear and inspiring vision aligned to our enterprise strategy, motivating approximately 50 sales professionals across the region to achieve exceptional results.
The Impact:
In this senior leadership role, you will operate at a significant level of complexity and ambiguity, building and maintaining strategic relationships with key internal and external stakeholders across APAC markets. You will be recognized as a thought leader and subject matter expert, representing S&P Global Ratings externally while maintaining relationships with senior management to stay aligned with business priorities. This position requires you to provide strategic oversight and innovative solutions to complex commercial challenges, demonstrating your ability to analyze multiple scenarios and understand the costs and benefits of each approach. You will lead highly visible multidisciplinary initiatives across the organization, influencing stakeholders both internally and externally to support key commercial objectives while upholding the highest quality standards across our business operations.

Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the setting of the commercial direction of S&P Ratings and drive revenue growth across the APAC region through both new and existing client relationships
- Lead and manage a team of approximately 50 sales associates, providing coaching, mentoring, and strategic guidance to achieve regional financial and market share objectives
- Serve as primary business interface with external market participants including issuers, rating advisors, and investment bankers to deepen client relationships and protect the S&P franchise
- Develop and execute comprehensive commercial plans that ensure financial goals are met, while identifying medium and long-term growth opportunities
- Drive pricing strategy for the region and establish policies for quality, efficient, and standardized customer service across the organization
- Partner with senior executive teams to provide commercial perspective on regional operations and contribute to global Sales network strategic initiatives
- All employees are required to work from the office a minimum of 2 days per week
What We're Looking For:
Basic Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution; Advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) strongly preferred
- An S&P Global employee at this level would typically have 15+ years of extensive consultative selling experience in financial services, with demonstrated success in complex, relationship-driven sales environments
- Must have analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on data-driven decision-making, demonstrating creativity and innovation
- Proven track record of managing P&L responsibility and achieving revenue targets
- Deep understanding of capital markets, credit rating processes, and financial instruments across diverse regulatory environments
- Mastery of managing complex client relationships, with the ability to engage with senior executives and stakeholders, fostering collaboration and promoting a global mindset
- Senior management experience leading large, geographically distributed sales teams with proven ability to drive revenue growth
- Demonstrated ability to lead change and drive innovation within relationship management organizations, serving as a role model for integrity, curiosity, client centricity, collaboration, and compliance
- Extensive coaching and mentoring experience, including developing others into leadership roles, while demonstrating emotional intelligence and adaptability in challenging situations
- Strong communication skills both written and oral, with the ability to connect with people at all levels in the organization
- Strong influencing and interpersonal skills
- Ability to articulate complex commercial strategies across functions, levels, and cultures both internally and externally, with proven negotiation skills to achieve mutually beneficial solutions
- Demonstrated capability to think strategically about long-term market opportunities, identifying growth prospects and innovation possibilities while influencing multiple teams to contribute toward shared objectives
- Proficiency in Standard Chinese is an advantage
- Pan-Asian and US travel required
