About the Role

Job Description Summary

As the Lead Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Engineer at GE Aerospace, you will be the site technical expert on EHS issues, providing input to site EHS/Facilities Business Leader and management. To initiate and influence EHS culture improvement and work as a team to integrate related EHS policy & practices into the business. He/she will work closely with his/her department and the operation team in risk controls, training, audit and incident/accident investigation. He / she will provide guidance to the rest of the team members.

Role Overview:

  • Across the site through regular tours, genba and networking to embed processes and requirements to identify potential hazards, risk assess and reduce risks together with colleagues across the site
  • Responsible for managing EHS programs and proactively driving continuous improvement.
  • Maintain and drive compliance with local environmental, health, and safety regulations. Develop and sustain systems to ensure continuous compliance with all permits.
  • Ensure all GE Aerospace required tools, programs and management systems are properly implemented and that EHS work plans/documentation required to support programs and management systems are comprehensive and up to date. 
  • Foster a safety-oriented culture among leaders, colleagues and contractors to encourage reporting of EHS concerns and implement initiatives to continuously improve safety standards and culture
  • Organise and facilitate the EHS training programs for employees, contractors, and other stakeholders to truly embed knowledge and understanding
  • Lead EHS incidents, or near-misses to document findings, identify root causes, and implement corrective / preventive measures meeting GE Aerospace and local requirements

Ideal Candidate

The Ideal candidate has EHS experiences in a production setting and is a registered WSHO and FSM.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering / Science with minimum 5 years of relevant working experience or Diploma in Engineering / Science with minimum 10 years of relevant working experience.
  • Must be a registered WSHO and FSM.
  • Experience in working in a manufacturing site is an added advantage.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical Skills: Strong technical knowledge of EHS principles, regulations, and standards.
  • Ability to identify and solve complex EHS problems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and draw conclusions.
  • Ability to lead and motivate others in EHS initiatives.
  • Understanding of relevant environmental, health, and safety regulations.
