Human Resources / Payroll Specialist

Position Summary

The Human Resources / Payroll Specialist is responsible for supporting day-to-day HR operations while ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing. This role serves as a key point of contact for employees regarding payroll, benefits, and HR policies, and ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll Administration

  • Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and on time
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable payroll laws and regulations
  • Reconcile payroll reports and resolve discrepancies
  • Coordinate with Finance for general ledger postings and reporting
  • Manage timekeeping systems and review employee time records

Human Resources Functions

  • Administer employee onboarding and offboarding processes
  • Maintain employee personnel files and HRIS data integrity
  • Assist with benefits administration, including enrollments, changes, and terminations
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies, benefits, and payroll
  • Support recruitment efforts, including job postings and interview coordination
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and employment laws

Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee records and sensitive information

Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of experience in payroll and/or HR administration
  • Knowledge of payroll systems
  • Paylocity a plus
  • Strong understanding of payroll regulations and employment laws
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
