Rehabilitation, Aged and Community Services (RACS) is a vibrant and diverse division within Canberra Health Services, delivering high-quality multidisciplinary rehabilitation, aged and community-based care across a range of settings, including Canberra Hospital, Community Health Centres and Village Creek Centre in Kambah. Within RACS, Wards 11A and 11B at Canberra Hospital specialise in Acute Care of the Elderly (ACE), offering a rewarding opportunity to work with older adults at a critical point in their healthcare journey. Acute geriatric nursing is both challenging and deeply fulfilling, requiring a strong understanding of the complex physical, cognitive, emotional and social needs of older people. Nurses in ACE work closely with multidisciplinary teams to manage complex acute conditions, support recovery, plan safe and effective discharges, and provide compassionate, person-centred care to patients and their families. This is an opportunity to make a genuine difference, enhance quality of life during hospital admission, and be part of a team dedicated to excellence in elder care within a supportive and welcoming environment.
