Maintenance Support

Ada Bible Church is looking to add a part-time Maintenance Support person to our facilities team. In this role, you will work behind the scenes to assure that building systems and facilities are kept in proper working order and that Ada Bible Church facilities are prepared and ready to host church activities. This position is part-time and is up to 20 hours per week with daytime availability.

What you will do:

• Troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on building systems such as HVAC, lighting, alarms, etc.
• Repair basic electrical and plumbing problems and perform other miscellaneous repairs
• Perform carpentry work as needed
• Assist with assembly of office furniture and equipment
• Set-up and tear-down equipment used for events such as chairs, tables, decorations, etc.
• Tend to church vehicles by performing routine oil changes, monitoring fluid levels, etc.
• Serve as a general “handyman” for repairs, updates, and system needs

Who we're looking for:

We're looking for someone with at least 3 years of experience in maintaining building systems and performing general “handyman” activities. While formal education beyond a high school diploma is not required, training and knowledge of this trade is strongly preferred.

Your ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems associated with building systems will be put to good use in this position. We want you to take pride in your work as you keep Ada Bible Church facilities functioning at peak performance.

Mechanicals support work is a physically demanding job. You will be on your feet walking or standing for a significant part of your day. You should be able to work while bending down, kneeling, or squatting and you should be able to lift 50 lbs. From time to time, you may climb a ladder or perform work at a rooftop level. 

While most mechanical support work can be done during regular business hours, there may be urgent repair situations that require your attention on weekends, evenings, or holidays from time to time.

Lastly, you should be a committed Christian living a life of obedience to Christ. Membership at Ada Bible Church is not necessary for employment, but you should be willing to become a member within 90 days of hire and have beliefs that are consistent with our statement of faith.
