What You'll Do

The Training Design Specialist has a dual job responsibility to include developing training material and delivering training.

Designer: Primary duties are to gather systems information from various resources and assemble training material. Resources are unlimited and include non-technical material manuals, existing training material from other regions within the Company, and subject matter experts. The designer must have a strong working relationship with the non-technical experts to ensure the material being developed meets the needs of the dealers. In situations when an outside vendor is to be used, they will serve as the liaison. He/she will provide written instructions and necessary material for the project.

Trainer: Using delivery skills, knowledge researched from subject matter experts, and training experience, deliver non-technical training in multiple outlets including web-based training, virtual, and in-person delivery.


Design Specialist

  • Assess training needs for internal and external customers
  • Consult managers, instructors, SME’s, and other employees to develop training material and objectives
  • Develop training courses using a consistent design method
  • Provide raw data to vendors.
  • Assist with capturing non-technical material
  • Modify photos as required through Photoshop
  • Create and maintain electronic library of course materials, photos, manuals, etc.
  • Partner with third-party vendors to build and develop training materials.
  • Create learning experiences and material that supports the learner both in their understanding and use of applicable knowledge and skills
  • Develop training/job aids such as “How To” manuals and handbooks.
  • Maintain electronic library of course materials, photos, and course packages
  • Assist in evaluating training program effectiveness
  • Lead new research on non-technical dealer information
  • Confirmation and documentation of training resources in comparison with non-technical dealer information
  • Assess the effectiveness of the modes of instruction for each instructional topic

Systems Trainer

  • Lead in-person training experiences with dealerships
  • Assist with classroom set up for class week prior to a class date, including schematics, table items, service library, classroom presentation files.
  • Assist as IT in simplistic terms with dealer personnel
  • Assist with inventory of everyday use items and report to manager as supplies get low.
  • Assist with inventory management of all in-person training materials
  • Work with subject matter experts to research and study a competent level of understanding of non-technical dealer information
  • Maintain the integrity of the instructional classroom
  • Provide record keeping on the progression of the learning development during and after instruction
  • Provide feedback, notes, updates, and content objectives to the learning developers for content creation
  • Maintain an updated knowledge on all current technical dealer systems
  • Deliver the content material accurately and clearly
  • Facilitate the hands-on activity by engaging the dealer personnel with active feedback and assessment
  • Collaborate with the global team for information and development of new material

Requirements

What You'll Need to Be Successful

  • Strong presentation & instructional design skills
  • Advanced photo manipulation skills (Photoshop) preferred
  • Experience with E-learning design preferred but not required
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • High level of experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
  • Experience: 2+ years
  • Travel: up to 50%
