The role of the Human Resources Specialist collaborates with the HR team and organizational leadership in matters related to employee relations, compliance, policy guidance/interpretation and is the bridge between field business operations and the HR support structures. This role collaborates with HR leadership and Operations to identify workforce trends, anticipate risks, and recommend proactive strategies that strengthen engagement, retention, and organizational effectiveness. The Human Resources Specialist will report to the Vice President of Human Resources.


Core Responsibilities

· Partners with HR leadership and Operations to identify systemic employee relations trends and recommend strategic interventions to strengthen culture, engagement, and retention.

· Serves as a consultative partner to leadership on organizational design, performance management effectiveness, and coaching strategies. Identifying and mitigating risks related to performance management.

· Uses professional judgment and experience to anticipate potential employee relations risks and proactively recommend preventative strategies to minimize issues before they escalate.

· Promotes balanced decision-making by helping leaders consider operational, legal, and people-focused implications of their actions.

· Creates opportunities to enrich and clarify the understanding of organizational policies, procedures, and processes and serves as the general point of contact for all HR matters.

· Demonstrates the ability to think beyond standard processes, recommending alternative approaches when traditional solutions may not fully address the circumstances or underlying issues.

· Provides support to organizational leadership on employee relations issues including, but not limited to, investigations, counseling/coaching, conflict resolution, etc. Prepare responses to charges of discrimination or harassment in collaboration with HR leadership. 

· Prepares routine HR reports and metrics for the Corporate Human Resources department and leadership.Analyzes reports and data to identify and recommend solutions for continuous improvement of HR related issues. 

· Reviews corporate HR policies, practices, and procedures, and evaluates their compliance with laws, regulations, and precedents affecting Human Resources.

· Assists leadership with HR related initiatives impacting the overall organization.



Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Three to five years of progressive human resources and employee relations experience in a multi-site organization required.  
  • Knowledge of HR laws including, but not limited to, FLSA, FMLA, EEO-1, ADA, Affirmative Action, etc. 
  • Proficient with technology solutions such as MS Office Suite, HRIS, ATS.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills. Able to present ideas and information clearly and concisely Must be able and willing to travel in support of all job duties and responsibilities as needed.
