Position Overview
Prairie Meadows Racetrack and Casino is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Purchasing Department Intern to join our structured internship program. This internship provides hands-on experience in procurement, vendor management, inventory control, and supply chain operations within a dynamic casino, racing, and hospitality environment.
The intern will work closely with the purchasing team and gain exposure to purchase orders, vendor coordination, receiving and inventory processes, and department supply support while learning how purchasing supports operations across food and beverage, hotel, gaming, racing, and facilities departments.
This is an excellent opportunity for students interested in business, supply chain management, finance, or operations management to gain real-world experience.
What You Will Do
- Assist with purchase requisitions and purchase orders
- Support vendor coordination and communication
- Observe procurement and approval workflows
- Assist with receiving and inventory tracking processes
- Help organize purchasing and vendor documentation
- Support supply coordination for multiple departments
- Observe budgeting and cost control procedures
