Position Overview:
Prairie Meadows Racetrack and Casino is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Finance & Accounting Intern to join our structured internship program. This internship provides hands-on experience in accounting and financial operations within a dynamic casino, racing, and hospitality environment.
The intern will work closely with the finance team and gain exposure to accounts payable, general ledger, revenue reporting, horsemen bookkeeping, and financial analysis while learning how financial operations support the overall business.
This is an excellent opportunity for students interested in accounting, finance, or business administration to gain real-world experience in a highly regulated and fast-paced industry.
What You Will Do
- Assist with accounts payable and invoice processing
- Support general ledger and financial reporting activities
- Help review and organize financial documentation
- Assist with data entry and financial system updates
- Observe month-end close processes
- Learn revenue tracking and reconciliation procedures
- Learn about horsemen bookkeeping and racing financial operations
- Attend finance meetings and department reviews
