286 Madison Dental is hiring a polished, patient-focused Lead Dental Office Receptionist to help guide the front office experience in our modern, multi-specialty Manhattan practice. Located in the heart of Midtown, our office serves a steady flow of patients in a fast-paced, high-service environment, and we’re looking for someone who thrives on creating a warm, organized, and professional experience from the moment a patient walks through the door.
In this lead role, you’ll do more than manage the front desk - you’ll help set the tone for the patient experience, support day-to-day front office flow, and serve as a trusted point person for both patients and team members. What You’ll Do
- Welcome patients warmly and create a polished, professional first impression
- Answer phones, assist patients with questions, and schedule appointments efficiently
- Verify and communicate dental insurance benefits, eligibility, and estimates
- Manage patient check-in and check-out and maintain accurate patient information
- Collect payments, balance transactions, and support front office financial workflows
- Maintain accurate records and assist with data entry and document management
- Coordinate closely with providers and clinical staff to support smooth patient flow
- Use scripts and communication guidelines in person and over the phone, as assigned
- Help oversee front desk operations and support consistency in service, organization, and workflow
- Serve as a lead presence at the front desk by helping guide daily priorities and maintaining a high standard of professionalism
What We’re Looking For
- Dental insurance experience required
- Prior dental front desk experience required
- High school diploma or GED
- Strong customer service, organization, and professionalism
- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
- Excellent communication skills and confident phone etiquette
- Familiarity with Denticon or similar dental software preferred
- Positive, dependable, team-oriented attitude
- Bilingual Spanish/English a plus
- Leadership mindset with the ability to support a smooth, patient-centered front office operation
