The Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist is responsible for planning and implementing therapeutic and evidence-based Recreational Therapy services at Salt Lake Behavioral Health in order to meet the physical, cognitive, emotional, social and cultural needs of patients. This position involves defining and implementing treatment goals as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team and supporting patients in their mental health journey. The Recreational Therapist strives to build a strong therapeutic alliance through empathetic and continuous patient care, observation, interaction and role modeling to patients. The Recreational Therapist is responsible for conducting assessments, facilitating RT group interventions, documenting progress and discharge planning for assigned patients.
The Music Therapist is responsible for planning and implementing therapeutic and evidence-based Music Therapy services at Salt Lake Behavioral Health in order to meet the physical, cognitive, emotional, social and cultural needs of patients by a Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC). This position involves defining and implementing treatment goals as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team and supporting patients in their mental health journey. The Music Therapist strives to build a strong therapeutic alliance through empathetic and continuous patient care, observation, interaction and role modeling to patients. The Music Therapist is responsible for conducting assessments, facilitating MT group interventions, documenting progress and discharge planning for assigned patients.

Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Recreational Therapy, humanities, social work or related therapeutic discipline required.
Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of related experience, knowledge and understanding of psychiatric patient care techniques and mental illness preferred.
Licensure: Current national certification (CTRS) through the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification and current license (TRS) through Utah Department of Professional Licensing required.
Additional Requirements: CPR certification is required. You will need to successfully complete our current training for restraints and seclusions. This training will need to be done prior to assisting in any patient restraints or seclusions and within 90 days of employment.
