Easterseals is seeking an operational leader to take the helm of our Hourly Supported Community Living program. This role demands a unique mix of strategic management and hands-on engagement! You will be responsible for the financial health and regulatory compliance of the department while serving as a direct mentor to our Direct Support Professionals and a tireless advocate for our clients. Principle Accountabilities Include:
• Perform full range of leadership duties including, but not limited to: keep team members informed of and actively support agency activities, strategic goals and challenges; coach and counsel team members; ensure department is staffed with competent and qualified team members; work with team members to ensure their personal and professional development; provides recognition to team members for positive work performance and addresses performance concerns as needed; ensure compliance with Agency policies.
• Manage day-to-day operations of programs, filling in as needed to ensure quality.
• Develop, implement, and monitor quality controls to ensure that department goals are met.
• Evaluate programs and make recommendations for program improvement/change, which will meet the needs of people who have disabilities.
•Identify opportunities for program growth and expansion.
• Recruit program clients as needed to meet departmental goals, objectives, and budget expectations.
• Ensure programming is operational outside of business hours, evenings, and weekends.
• Develop and maintain a complete understanding of Medicaid HCBS rules and regulations.
• Full understanding of financial impact, program, and reporting requirements of funding sources, grants, contracts, and applicable accreditation agencies; ensure requirements are adhered to.
• Maintain positive relationships with funders and other public and private agencies to ensure ongoing support of programs and services to people with disabilities.
• Prepare and make recommendations on the department’s annual budget; monitor and analyze monthly financial performance against the approved budget and make necessary recommendations to ensure budget expectations are met.
• Maintain department Balance Score Card.
• Ensure accreditation requirements are met.
• Represent Easterseals at meetings and/or give presentations.
• Participate as an active member of professional and/or civic/service organizations.
• Ensure that policies and procedures are adhered to and timelines are met.
•Identify and follow up with potential funding sources in accordance with established policy.
•Remain current on issues related to programs supervised, including trends, funding issues, and services to people with disabilities.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in therapeutic recreation, family services, social work, special education, or other related fields preferred or equivalent relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Previous supervisor experience preferred.
- Certification in Adult and Child CPR, First Aid, and Mandatory Reporter, or the ability to receive certification during the first 90 days of employment.
- Demonstrated belief in Positive Behavior Support mythology and practice.
- Ability to effectively solve problems and handle emergencies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking.
- Ability to work under pressure, maintain accuracy, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work with team members, clients, and the public in a professional and concerned manner.
- Ability and willingness to be available to direct reports for non-traditional hours throughout the year, as required, including weekends and evenings
- Possession of or ability to obtain a valid Iowa Chauffeur’s License and maintenance of an excellent driving record.
- Access to reliable Transportation for regular participation in work.
