GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY
The Project Engineer for Hillen Demolition plays a critical role in the planning, coordination, and execution of demolition projects. This position ensures projects meet safety, quality, timeline, and budgetary expectations. The Project Engineer supports the Project Manager by managing technical and administrative tasks, maintaining efficient communication between all stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations and company standards. This role is pivotal to driving the success of Hillen Demolition’s projects and delivering value to our clients.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Project Planning and Scheduling
- Assist the Project Manager in creating detailed project schedules, including defining key milestones, tasks, and deadlines.
- Evaluate project requirements by reviewing project specifications, drawings, and client contracts.
- Prepare comprehensive project timelines and ensure alignment with stakeholders.
Procurement and Resource Management
- Coordinate the procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontractors in alignment with project needs and budget.
- Track and manage project resources to avoid delays and cost overruns.
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely delivery of required materials to job sites.
Technical Oversight and Documentation
- Analyze project plans, blueprints, and specifications to identify potential challenges or inconsistencies.
- Draft and review Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, and change orders.
- Maintain up-to-date and organized project records, ensuring all documentation meets contractual and regulatory requirements.
Site Management and Quality Control
- Conduct regular on-site inspections to monitor progress and ensure work adheres to project specifications and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with field teams to resolve technical issues and improve work processes.
- Implement quality control measures to ensure demolition activities meet company and client standards.
Communication and Collaboration
- Serve as a liaison between clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure clear communication and smooth project execution.
- Prepare and deliver project updates and reports to the Project Manager, executives, and clients.
- Facilitate project meetings to address progress, challenges, and next steps.
Risk Management and Compliance
- Identify potential risks, delays, or safety concerns and recommend solutions to mitigate them.
- Ensure all project activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including environmental and safety standards.
- Actively participate in safety meetings and enforce Hillen Demolition’s safety policies.
