Providence Hospice is a division of Providence Life Services, which provides a continuum of healthcare, focused on senior living. Providence Hospice is looking for a Hospice Volunteer Coordinator, Full Time in Homer Glen, IL. Hours for this position are Monday-Friday, 8AM-4:30PM. Must have a valid driver's license, reliable transportation and be able to travel to Illinois and Indiana. Mileage reimbursement is included for this position at $ .725/mile. Salary is exempt.

Summary of job responsibilities (not inclusive of all responsibilities)
- Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the hospice volunteer program.
- Regularly communicate with and/or meet with volunteers.
- Schedule volunteer hours, and work assignments in coordination with program supervisors
- Maintain patient care volunteer and administrative/clerical volunteer statistics.
- Provides monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
- Supports the mission of the organization; enhance the lives of those we serve in the name of Jesus Christ.
- Reports accidents and/or incidents to the administrator.
- Responds and reviews grievances and complaints.
- Participates in planning the department’s budget.
- Schedules and organizes volunteer activities and events including appreciation lunches, parties, etc.
- Recruits, selects and trains new volunteers.
- Oversees the onboarding of new volunteers.
- Oversees annual compliance for the volunteer program.
- Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positivity as well as a calm environment.
- Attend and participate in IDT meetings and other meetings as assigned.
- Maintain patient confidentiality.
- Ensure volunteers follow policies and procedures.
- Travel to Illinois and/or Indiana office and to patient’s homes.
Requirements
- The ideal candidate will have experience working for a hospice organization.
- Must have a valid driver’s license, have reliable transportation and be able to travel to Illinois and Indiana.
- Must have a high school diploma or its equivalent, some college preferred.
- Must pass a physical, drug screen, 50-pound lift test, fingerprinting for criminal background check and complete a reference check.
