About this role
PlanetBids is seeking a Product Marketing Manager who will play a key role in growing VendorLine by improving how the product is positioned, understood, and promoted to vendors. VendorLine is PlanetBids’ vendor-focused platform designed to help businesses discover, track, and manage government contracting opportunities. By bringing relevant bids and opportunity management tools into one place, VendorLine helps vendors stay informed, save time, and compete more effectively for public projects.
This role sits at the intersection of product, marketing, and customer insight. You will conduct research to better understand our vendor audience, help refine product messaging, and build marketing initiatives that drive awareness and adoption. Because our marketing team is small, this role is ideal for someone who enjoys both strategic thinking and hands-on execution. You will work closely with the Marketing Director to support VendorLine’s marketing strategy while contributing insights that help shape how the product is positioned and promoted.

Requirements
Role Responsibilities
Product Marketing & Customer Insights
- Conduct research to better understand vendor needs, challenges, and behaviors
- Speak with customers and analyze feedback to uncover marketing opportunities
- Perform competitive research and market analysis
- Help develop and refine VendorLine’s messaging and value proposition
- Translate product features into clear, compelling benefits for vendors
- Ensure messaging is consistent across marketing channels and materials
- Share insights and recommendations that help refine VendorLine’s positioning and marketing strategy
Website & Content Development
- Own and manage the VendorLine website experience
- Update and optimize product pages, landing pages, and site messaging
- Ensure the website clearly communicates VendorLine’s value and supports marketing initiatives
- Create content that supports VendorLine marketing efforts, including:
- Blog articles
- Educational resources
- Learning Center content
- Product explainers and feature highlights
- Develop content that helps vendors better understand procurement opportunities and how VendorLine supports their success
Campaign Development & Execution
- Plan, build, and launch marketing campaigns that promote VendorLine and drive vendor adoption
- Create and manage paid advertising campaigns (e.g., Google Ads, social ads), including targeting, messaging, and performance optimization
- Create campaign assets such as landing pages, emails, and supporting content
- Monitor and optimize campaign performance across channels
- Identify opportunities to improve campaign performance, engagement, and conversion over time
Required and Desired Skills
· 2–5 years of experience in product marketing, SaaS marketing, or related roles required
· Strong writing skills with the ability to clearly communicate product value and translate features into customer benefits
· Experience developing or contributing to product messaging and positioning
· Ability to conduct customer and market research and turn insights into actionable recommendations
· Experience creating marketing content such as landing pages, product pages, emails, and educational content
· Experience managing or updating marketing websites or landing pages
· Experience planning and executing marketing campaigns across channels
· Familiarity with paid advertising (e.g., Google Ads, social ads) and basic performance optimization
· Ability to analyze performance and identify opportunities to improve engagement and conversion
· Travel requirements up to 20% – quarterly travel to conferences and tradeshows
· Ability to work both autonomously as well as within a team in a remote work environment.
