Full-Time (40 hours)
Provides total joint patients with a Comprehensive Care Plan to ensure the most informative and individualized surgical experience. Contacts patients prior to Total Joint class and after surgery to collect data aimed at improving the total joint experience and providing support. They also assist with organizing and providing generalized education to the surgical services staff, working alongside the director. Leads the Hip & Knee Replacement Program (HKRP) providing data to the team, along with exploring research on improving the program. They will oversee the Hip & Knee DNV survey process. In conjunction with the Director, they will lead and support the Outpatient, Total Joint and Cataract Preadmission Nurses with daily workflow.
Functions of the Position (not an exhaustive list):
- Leads the development, implementation and evaluation of strategic initiative to enhance the Hip & Knee Program
- Provides individualized patient contact, support and education throughout the surgical process and beyond
- Coordinates all aspects of the Total Joint Class
- In conjunction with the Director, leads and supports the Outpatient, Total Joint and Cataract Preadmission nurses
- Streamlines preadmission workflows
- Works to improve patient readiness, safety and overall experience
- Monitors Preadmissions staff performance
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred
- Current license in North Carolina or compact state as an RN
- Current BLS
- Preferred five years of experience in any combination of OR (preferably in Ortho), Clinical Care Coordinator, ICU, and/or Med-Surg
Physical Demands:
- Requires sitting for long periods, sometimes in a confined space
- Lifting/carry up to 30 lbs.
- Push up to 250 lbs.
- Repetitive finger movement
- Repetitive twisting and pressure involving hand and finger mobility
- Reaching at all levels
- Stooping, bending, kneeling, or crouching
- Possible exposure to blood borne pathogens
- Working around machinery with moving parts
