HealthFirst Family Care Center, a Certified Great Place to Work® and a wonderful place to make a difference, is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our team of mission-minded healthcare professionals, supporting our psychiatric nurse practitioner by working in our Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) and psychiatric programs.


This position is 32-34 hours/week with a schedule of Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.  Unlike most of our other Medical Assistant positions, there are no late night coverage expectations for this position.

You’re a compassionate, highly organized Medical Assistant with a passion for making care more accessible, especially for those navigating substance use recovery. You're certified, confident with EMRs, experienced in phlebotomy and clinical support, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-centered environment. You know how to keep patients at ease, and you understand that kindness, consistency, and communication go a long way in helping people heal. You’re reliable, flexible, and driven by a deep sense of purpose.

What you’ll do:

  • Support MAT and psych patients by prepping for visits, documenting vitals, and coordinating follow-ups
  • Perform phlebotomy, administer medications and vaccines, and assist during exams
  • Track patient progress and maintain accurate records
  • Work closely with providers, pharmacies, and insurers to coordinate care
  • Order, track, and reconcile medication
  • Process prior authorizations for medication
  • Champion quality improvement and patient satisfaction every step of the way

Requirements

What you’ll bring:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program
  • AAMA certification (CMA or RMA) and BLS certification
  • At least 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting
  • Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills
  • Ability to work across multiple sites and collaborate across departments
  • Comfort working with sensitive patient populations with empathy and discretion
