About the Role

Floater Behavioral Aide

$20.00–$22.50/hour | Fair Oaks, CA | Full-Time | School Hours (approx. 6.5-hour shifts)| Travel Required | Special Education 

 

About the Role

As a Floater Behavioral Aide with Point Quest Group, you’ll provide essential support to students aged 5-22 with behavioral and learning needs across multiple school sites. This dynamic, travel-based role is ideal for someone adaptable, proactive, and passionate about helping students succeed. Your work directly impacts student growth by reinforcing positive behaviors and supporting individualized learning plans.

What You’ll Do

 

  • Support implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
    • Provide individualized instructional assistance tailored to student needs (paraprofessional/ instructional aide)
  • Travel to multiple school sites (30+ miles one-way) within the assigned region
  • Respond to crisis situations using Pro-ACT and/or CPI intervention strategies
  • Supervise students during transitions, meals, transportation, and breaks (student supervision/ school support)
  • Facilitate and engage students in recreational and educational activities
  • Model and reinforce positive behaviors using Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) techniques
  • Record and maintain accurate daily data on behavior, progress, and incidents (data tracking/ documentation)
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, teachers, and support staff regarding student needs and progress

 

What We’re Looking For

 

     Must Have

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • DOJ/FBI Live Scan Background Clearance and TB Clearance
  • Strong communication skills and reliable
  • At least 18 years of age

     Preferred

  • Experience in school or treatment settings
  • Pro-ACT, CPI, and/or CPR certification
  • Familiarity with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) techniques
  • 1–3 years of experience working with students with behavioral or special needs

Physical Demands:

  • Environment: Occasional exposure to dust, pollen, and fumes.
  • Activity: Frequent engagement in tasks such as reaching, handling, standing, walking, and lifting items.
  • Sensory: Ability to perform essential job functions with or without assistive devices or accommodations, including working in moderate to high noise levels.
