ROLE Summary

This role sits within Merlin’s Go-To-Market (GTM) function, the growth engine responsible for driving visitation, revenue and incremental business for LEGOLAND New York Resort and NY Cluster. Success will require close collaboration with Marketing, Operations, eCommerce, Revenue Management, Finance and the North America Schools & Groups Sales Manager to deliver volume and revenue targets through exceptional, tailored guest experiences.

This is a field-sales growth role focused on outbound sales and partnerships to drive revenue through a strong ownership and focus on community, schools, youth groups and similar audiences, as well as local partnerships. This Manager will focus on opportunities that are scalable, incremental and aligned to the GTM Director and National Schools Manager’s strategy and best practices. 

PRIMARY PURPOSE

To drive incremental revenue, engagement and visitation for LEGOLAND New York Resort through proactive, targeted and disciplined outbound sales, strategic partnerships, community involvement, program development, and end-to-end ownership of relates programs and initiatives—from prospecting and negotiating, through execution and optimization.

Qualifications & Experience

Key Accountabilities

Outbound Sales & New Business Development

 

  • Responsible for proactive outbound sales activity including cold outreach, in-market prospecting, and relationship development.
  • Consistently source net-new opportunities that increase reach and engagement among community partnerships, schools and youth groups.
  • Identify and secure new partnerships, marketing strategies and advertising with local organizations, educational institutions, youth tour operators, camp organizers and community groups.
  • Support partnership and community related events, trade shows, and conferences that enhance brand visibility and engage new customers.

Business Development & Revenue Ownership

 

  • Work closely with the GTM Director and National Schools Manager on strategy and planning.
  • Develop, sell, and close incremental revenue opportunities through schools, youth groups, community programs and partnerships. 
  • Focuses on the end-to-end path from awareness → purchase → post-visit experience.
  • Build tailored offerings and processes that align partner objectives with Resort priorities.
  • Support deal structuring and negotiations in alignment with leadership and Resort goals.
  • Work cross-functionally to implement new tickets, products, pricing, and booking strategies.
  • Maintain accountability and provide reports for assigned revenue streams and performance.

Cluster & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Serve as the primary owner for school and youth group channels, ensuring oversight of operational execution and delivery, along with communications of the programs across all customer facing touchpoints.
  • Work closely with Go-To-Market, Marketing and Operations teams to build and deliver these initiatives.
  • Maintain strong awareness of attraction capacity, seasonality and operational constraints.
  • Act as a conduit between functional specialist teams and on-site operations, embodying Merlin’s future ways of working.
  • Ensure best-in-class booking, payment, and conversion processes for schools and youth groups.
  • Update reservations teams on new products, programs, and operational changes.

 

Experience and Qualifications

  • 5-10 years of proven experience in outbound sales, business development, sponsorships or partnerships.
  • Experience within hospitality, attractions, entertainment, or experiential businesses—particularly those serving youth, schools, education, scouts, childcare, or student travel—strongly preferred.
  • Skilled in planning and executing private events, managing youth group sales contracts.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams to support operational planning and successful execution
  • Experience with platforms such as reservation and booking systems and CRM tools.
  • Demonstrated success generating leads independently and driving outbound solicitation.
  • Strong knowledge of the local market.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Hospitality, Marketing or related field.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Commercial, revenue-first mindset with strong outbound sales discipline.
  • Comfortable operating in a matrixed, cluster-based environment.
  • Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills.
  • Highly organized, accountable, and self-directed with the ability to manage workload and deliver to agreed deadlines.
  • Resilient, proactive, and results-driven.

 

Job Demands

Pay Range

Compensation between USD $70,000.00/Yr.-USD $75,000.00/Hr.
